CATHEDRAL ROCK:

LOCATION: CATHEDRAL ROCK TRAIL, SEDONA, AZ

IT IS LOCATED A SHORT DRIVE OUTSIDE OF SEDONA, OVER IN OAK CREEK.

PARKING:

PARKING IS NOT ALWAYS EASY FOR THIS TRAIL. THERE ARE TWO VERY SMALL LOTS THAT FILL UP FAST ANY DAY AND TIME OF THE WEEK. IF YOU DON’T GET TO THE LOT EARLY ENOUGH TO GET A SPOT, BE PREPARED TO HIKE UP TO A MILE EXTRA TO PARK ELSEWHERE AND GET TO THE TRAILHEAD. THERE IS NO PARKING IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD THAT CATHEDRAL ROCK IS LOCATED.

HIKING UP:

THIS HIKE IS 1.2 MILES OUT AND BACK. IT IS RATED AS HARD, ALTHOUGH I WOULD SAY ITS DOABLE BY MOST.  IT IS FAIRLY SHORT AND IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES HERE IN SEDONA. THERE ARE 2 AREAS TO VISIT WHILE UP AT THE TOP. BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR BOTH.

PROTIPS:

1. GET THERE EARLY. IF YOU THINK YOU ARE YOU GOING EARLY, GOING EVEN EARLIER. THE PARKING LOT IS SMALL AND FILLS FAST.

2. BE PREPARED TO CLIMB. IT HAS AN AREA THAT IS STEEP AND REQUIRES HAND USE TO CLIMB UP THE ROCKS

3. SUNSET HAS THE BEST VIEWS. IF YOU CAN FIND

BIRTHING CAVE

LOCATION:

IT IS LOCATED OFF OF LONG CANYON ROAD IN SEDONA

PARKING:

IF YOU DRIVE ABOUT A MILE PAST BOYNTON CANYON TRAILHEAD PARKING LOT ON LONG CANYON ROAD YOU WILL SEE PULL OFFS WHERE YOU CAN PARK YOUR CAR. IT IS SAFE EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE NO SIGNS FOR PARKING SPACES OR ANYTHING.

HIKING UP:

THIS HIKE IS RATED AS MODERATE AND IS ABOUT 2 MILES OUT AND BACK. IT IS DOG FRIENDLY AS LONG AS THEY ARE ON LEASH. IT OFFERS A VERY GENTLE CLIMB WITH A BIG REWARD. GETTING BACK TO THE CAVE IS A LITTLE TRICKY SO I ALWAYS RECOMMEND GETTING THE ALLTRAILS APP. THIS IS THE FIRST HIKE THAT I USED THE APP FOR AND HAVE LOVED IT EVER SINCE.

PROTIPS:

1. USE THE ALL TRAILS APP, YOU WILL PROBABLY NEED IT. THERE IS NO SIGNAL BACK ON THESE ROADS, SO DOWNLOAD THE OFFLINE VERSION FOR TRIAL

THE PARKING LOT HERE IS LARGER THAN MOST IN SEDONA. IF THE LOT IS FULL THERE IS A GOOD AMOUNT OF STREET PARKING FOR YOU THAT IS SAFE. ALWAYS LOOK FOR SIGNS JUST IN CASE.

HIKING UP:

THIS HIKE IS 2.6 MILES OUT AND BACK AND IS RATED AS EASY. I USUALLY GO HERE IF THE OTHERS ARE ALREADY FULL. THE VIEWS OF THE CANYON ARE AMAZING AND IT IS GREAT FOR ALL SKILL LEVELS. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR LESS HEAVILY TRAFFICKED TRAIL, THIS IS FOR YOU.

PRO TIPS:

1. BE PREPARED TO GO PAST THE END OF THE TRAIL SIGN, IT'S THE BEST VIEW OF THE CANYON
